May was the last month of the RECONOMY project we were realizing with our partners - the manufacturing company operating in injection moulding MJ Polymers and the GreenSME Hub.
Within the project, we were able to create a solution to track the costs of individual production orders in near-real time. Thanks to it, MJ Polymers is now not afraid to test granulates with a higher proportion of recycled material, as any deviation from the plan is monitored. If overruns of the production task budget are detected, the factory manager checks whether the cause is the poor quality of the recycled raw material. If this is the case, they are able to influence its improvement, for example by re-milling, magnetizing it or drying it for longer. In the worst-case scenario, they can change the proportion of recycled and virgin granulate.
Validation of our solution has shown that, thanks to the ongoing tracking of cost deviations and the alerts received by the manager, total raw material consumption has decreased by around 5% and the proportion of recycled granulate has increased by around 7 p.p. The profitability of production orders measured on variable costs also increased significantly.
Take a look at the 3-minute video demonstrating our solution.
