ABOUT MATTRESS

Material Transformation Tracking for Reduced Stress on Shopfloor

CONCEPT

MATTRESS brings radical, human-centric revolution to the intrafactory logistics of contract, lot size one metal fabrication.

Project will develop two new components: MAMMA and RIMJOB – and integrate them with three existing components of the SHOP4CF framework to deliver a complete material transformation tracking and management system enhancing the workers’ situation on the shopfloor, the manufacturing footprint and the production efficiency:

  • Guiding workers in selection and transport of raw materials, thus relieving them from stress and responsibility for wrongly used materials and mismanufactured orders and improving the mental well-being of workers.

  • Ensuring that the burden of transporting the raw materials is limited to ergonomically reasonable boundaries, thus reducing the risk of musculoskeletal disorders and improving he physical well-being of workers.

  • Reducing the amount of waste generated by manufacturing thanks to optimization of the matching between the incoming orders and the available raw materials, thus improving the environmental sustainability of production.

  • Reducing the amount of faulty products resulting from assigning an impropriate piece of raw material for the job
